アカデミック・リンク・センター／附属図書館では、下記の通り国際シンポジウム「これからの大学図書館のための戦略的プランニング」を開催しました。
今日の大学図書館は、大学を取り巻く環境の変化、また学術情報流通システムの急激な変化の影響を受け、機能面での大きな刷新が求められている。日本では、2025年度から新たに公募を行う競争的研究費制度による学術論文および研究データの即時オープンアクセスが義務化されることが決まったが、そのような変化に対応し、大学図書館が教育研究の文脈でこれまで果たしてきた本質的な役割を継続的に果たしていくためには、図書館と学内外に存在するステークホルダーとの関係を調整して、大学図書館自身が自らが何をすべきかを明確にし、着実に実行に移していく必要がある。
この国際シンポジウムでは、アジア太平洋地域の大学図書館からスピーカーをお招きし、上記の課題について、先進的な大学図書館が具体的にまた戦略的にどのように対応してきたかをご報告いただくとともに、日本の事例についても報告し、共通の課題、固有の課題を明らかにしていきながら、オープンサイエンスの時代の大学図書館に求められる新機能とその実現に向けた戦略的プランニングについて、会場も含めてディスカッションしていきたい。
Today's university libraries are expected to undergo significant functional changes due to shifts in the academic environment and rapid digital transformations in scholarly communication. In 2025, it will be a requirement that articles resulting from nationally funded research in Japan be open access immediately on publication. For university libraries to continue fulfilling their essential roles in education and research, they must adapt to these changes by carefully coordinating relationships with stakeholders within and outside the university. University libraries must also clarify their objectives and ensure the steady execution of their strategies within their limited resources.
This international symposium invites speakers from university libraries across the Asia-Pacific region to present how leading university libraries have strategically and concretely addressed these challenges. The seminar will aim to identify common and unique issues faced by university libraries in the region. Through these discussions, we hope to explore the new functions required of university libraries in the Open Science era and engage in a collaborative dialogue about strategic planning for realizing these functions.

本シンポジウムではシンガポール、オーストラリア及び国内の大学図書館から講師をお招きし、当日は252名のウェビナー参加を頂きました。講師からは、オープンサイエンス時代を迎えて大学図書館が直面する課題について、自機関において具体的にまた戦略的にどう対応してきたか、先進的な取り組みが多々報告されました。その後、講師と竹内附属図書館長によるパネルディスカッションにおいて、これからの大学図書館に求められる新たな機能とその実現に向けた戦略的プランニングについて、参加者からの質問も取り上げながら様々な議論が展開されました。
